About Us:
Cork College of FET Macroom Youthreach Centre offers young people who are out of mainstream education an alternative educational pathway. We offer young people aged 15-20 years old an opportunity to remain in education and acquire a qualification in a friendly welcoming setting. We place high expectations on each individual and support all students in achieving a positive progression outcome. We place equal emphasis on developing academic skills in partnership with practical life skills and preparation for the world of work or further education.
What we offer:
The Centre offers continuous support for our students to ensure they continue to aspire towards the career goals through a blended curriculum of practical life skills, academic certification, and practical experience in the workplace. The Equivalent Qualification for Junior Certificate and Ordinary level Leaving Certificate, i.e., QQI L3 and QQI L4 respectively. This qualification is achieved through continuous assessment submission of folder work and practical work experience.
1:1 support depending on student needs, this can take the form of counselling support, career guidance and academic support.
