About Us:

Cork College of FET Ballincollig Youthreach Centre is an educational centre for young people who have left school early. The centre provides an alternative education environment, with small, flexible and inclusive classes. Our aim is to support young people to reach their potential, with a focus on life skills and progression to further education, training or employment.

What we offer:

  • An alternative two year educational programme
  • Certification – QQI Awards, Level 3 and Level 4
  • Academic subjects – Maths, Communications, I.T., Computer Literacy
  • Practical Subjects – Woodwork, Hairdressing Basin Skills and Blow-drying Skills, Catering Skills
  • Life Skills – SPHE, RSE, Personal Effectiveness, Understanding Interculturalism, Nutrition and Healthy Options, Health Related Fitness, Workplace Safety
  • Career Preparation – Work Experience, Career Planning
  • Extra-curricular – Gym, soccer, sports, art, music, water-sports, driver theory, Gaisce Award
  • Summer Programme – Activities, day trips, work experience, Guest speaker events
  • Training Allowance
  • A supportive and inclusive environment with small class sizes

Students are supported to make links with community organisations and businesses in the Ballincollig area, through the work experience element and the Gaisce programme

How do I enrol:

You can enrol if you:

  • Are aged between 16 and 20 years (aged 15 can apply upon referral)
  • Have left school early, without qualifications
  • Want an education
